Monday, Sept.14th , Litchfield Historical Society Workshop: Poetry In the Gardens  with Leslie Johnson at the Tapping Reeve Meadow. RAINDATE: MONDAY 9/21.

This a special arts-infused nature-writing workshop for the community, sponsored by the Connecticut Office of the Arts, at the Tapping Reeve Meadow on Monday, September 14th.  Teaching Artists Leslie Johnson and Thomasina Levy will be leading a collaborative nature writing workshop at the Tapping Reeve Meadow. Immerse yourself in poetry and music as you explore the ways nature inspires artistic expression. After listening to nature-themed poems and a musical performance by Thomasina, the teaching artists will lead participants in easy poetic exercises and creation of original poems inspired by the sights and sounds of the garden.

Saturday, Sept.12th @ 1:30 PM: Wisdom House Land Conservation Easement Ceremony   I will be playing my RAV Vast Drum to help celebrate the conservation easement at Wisdom House by the Daughters of Wisdom in collaboration with the Litchfield Land Trust.

Come for a joyous session of movement and sound dedicated to creating community and peace in the world. Facilitators (Thomasina Levy & Suan Armstrong) will lead participants in simple steps that are derived from The Dances of Universal Peace:  a spiritual practice of simple steps that draw on sacred phrases and poetry celebrating humanity’s spiritual traditions. Participants should come dressed in comfortable clothing that will allow easy movement.
