Angel from Montgomery with Thomasina Levy & Stephen Seifert.

As the Earth continues its endless voyage around the sun, we are running out time here on Planet Earth. We are Thunder, We are Lightning is an anthem and call to action for us to act NOW to address the growing threat of irreversible climate change that will affect our children, grandchildren and generations to come.

Stellar musicians and CT residents contributed their creative energy into this song. They are: Thomasina Levy (Composer, Lead Vocals); Jeff Pevar (Guitars); Dave Anderson (Electric Bass); Rob “The Drummer” Gottfried (Percussion); Vocal Harmonies: Margo Hennebach, Doug Kupper, Audrey Lewis, Barbara Lewis, Colin McEnroe, Mark Saunders, Joan Berliner Spear. The song was recorded, engineered, and mixed by Bill Ahearn at Tapeworks Recording Studio in Hartford, CT.

While I was teaching and performing at Halsway Manor in England, I brought my dulcimer to nearby Cleeve Abbey and played in some of the ancient sacred spaces. Peter Corser recorded this with my iPhone. The acoustics were amazing. Pretty Saro is one of my most favorite traditional songs. Anne Dilker on facebook says:
“Sometimes voice, instrument and space conspire to make magic. This is one of those times.”

Musical Bill of Rights/Music for People

Pickin' Porch- Townsend, TN

Step Into a Painting

Check out these links to some videos of my performances and workshops:

  • Here is my Christmas video for “O My Soul” on the hang drum for Hearts of Space Records.
  • Bill of Musical Rights/Music for People  -Music for people is a community of music lovers where all instruments are welcome. Among the participants you will also find photographers, artists, dancers, writers, poets, actors & actresses, recording artists and performers that take Music for People’s music making philosophy into schools, community centers, therapeutic sessions and eldercare facilities.
  • Here I am at the Pickin’ Porch in Townsend, TN hosted by Mike Clemmer’s Wood-N-Strings Dulcimer Shop.
  • Step Into a Painting– is an Arts-in Education workshop I co-facilitate with award-winning writer Leslie Johnson at the New Britain Museum of American Art. Here is a description of the workshop: Viewing great works of art becomes an active adventure in this playful, participation-based workshop. Award-winning musician, Thomasina Levy, and award-winning writer, Leslie Johnson, combine their creative skills to help participants produce musical and written responses to masterpiece paintings. A performance of the students’ creations can be planned as a culminating activity.
